The arrival of bluebells marks the true beginning of Spring; my favourite time of the year here in Cornwall. You can find bluebells all over the county, in woodlands and often just on the side of the road. But if you are looking for some real picture perfect…

8 of the prettiest fishing villages in Cornwall

    April 15, 2025April 28, 2025 Cornwall, UK travel

Before it became the tourist hot spot it is now, Cornwall’s primary industries were mining and fishing. The mines have been left as ruins or turned into museums, and the fishing industry has been downsized significantly. However the picturesque villages with their scenic harbours and gently bobbing boats…

Despite not eating dairy, I consider myself a bit of a pizza connoisseur. Although all pizza is a good investment, I can also tell the difference between an OK pizza and a truly great one. And luckily for me there are plenty of great pizza places in Cornwall….

Olivia stands leaning against a wall, in front of some roman ruins. She's wearing a black and white dress, with a camera around her neck.

Hi, welcome! I'm Liv and I love exploring my local area, as well as adventuring around the rest of the UK and Europe, usually joined by my husband Matt, and pup, Merlin.

If affordable, bite size travel and the occasional campervan roadtrip sound like your kind of thing then stick around and let's explore together.

📍Gdansk. A very quick recap of a very quick couple 📍Gdansk.
A very quick recap of a very quick couple of days showing the in-laws around my favourite Polish city. As it was April the weather was a little grey, but it’s still a gorgeous place. We came, we saw, we ate pierogi. What more could you want from a city break?

Another couple of photos from my favourite bit of Another couple of photos from my favourite bit of coastline down here in Cornwall. Pendeen lighthouse was built in 1900 which means the miners working at Levant Mine would have witnessed its construction on their way underground. They would have likely also witnessed a shipwreck or two which made the lighthouse necessary in the first place. Did you know that the Cornish coast has the highest number of wrecks on the entire British Isles? The number is somewhere over 6000 across 800 years. Hence the number of lovely lighthouses and daymarkers dotted along the coastline today!

📍Barbican Estate, London Just having a bit of fun 📍Barbican Estate, London
Just having a bit of fun photographing shapes at this iconic spot. Brutalist architecture can be beautiful if done right. For once I actually wanted there to be people around so I could photograph them amongst the buildings, but I swear we saw 1 person in an hour. And it was FREEZING, so not the day to hang around. Gives me an excuse to come back ☺️
