Cornwall is bursting with world famous beaches, one of the most well known hiking trails in the UK (the South West Coast Path) and tourist-magnet towns like St Ives and Padstow. But for those craving something quieter, there are also gorgeous lesser-known spots to be found. Below are…

When it comes to food, Cornwall is famous for 3 things – seafood, pasties and cream teas. Not, it seems, an ideal destination for vegans. But that’s where you’re wrong because Cornwall has some wonderful cafes and restaurants feeding the plant-based crowd. Below are some of the best…

How to spend the perfect day in Falmouth

    January 29, 2026January 31, 2026 Cornwall

Falmouth is a well known tourist destination in Cornwall. But it’s still one of my favourite towns in the county. I chock this up to the creative, buzzy vibe (partly thanks to the high student population here and in nearby Penryn). But also its numerous pubs and restaurants,…

6 things to see and do around Bodmin Moor, Cornwall

    December 18, 2025December 18, 2025 Cornwall

If you are anything like me then the term ‘the moors’ will stir up mental images of foggy, boggy wastelands where people get murdered, or catch hypothermia. This is no doubt down to the various films and novels set in this kind of environment. Hound of the Baskervilles…

Cornwall may be famous for its coastline, but nothing beats a forest walk down here when the trees start changing colours and shedding their leaves. There are plenty of forests to explore in the Duchy so grab your kids, your dog, and your wellies and get out there….

From surf to sunsets: the best beaches in Cornwall

    October 30, 2025October 29, 2025 Cornwall

Cornwall boasts stunning beaches like Pedn Vounder and Fistral Bay, but high season crowds can make access difficult. Alternatives include family-friendly Summerleaze and the quiet tranquility of Nanjizal Beach. For sunsets, Holywell Bay and Godrevy Lighthouse offer breathtaking views. There’s a beach for everyone in Cornwall, regardless of preference.

The best animal experiences in Cornwall

    October 9, 2025January 5, 2026 Cornwall

Cornwall offers unique animal experiences through various ethical attractions, such as the Cornish Seal Sanctuary, Screech Owl Sanctuary, and Flicka Foundation Donkey Sanctuary, where rescued animals find homes. Additionally, Padstow Sealife Safaris allows for wildlife spotting in natural habitats. Always prioritize ethics and avoid zoos; enjoy conservation-focused visits instead.

Olivia stands leaning against a wall, in front of some roman ruins. She's wearing a black and white dress, with a camera around her neck.

Hi, welcome! I'm Liv and I love exploring my local area, as well as adventuring around the rest of the UK and Europe, usually joined by my husband Matt, and pup, Merlin.

If affordable, bite size travel and the occasional campervan roadtrip sound like your kind of thing then stick around and let's explore together.

📍Fowey to Polruan Went for a little wander around 📍Fowey to Polruan
Went for a little wander around Fowey on Saturday and it was beautiful but busy so caught the Bodinnick Ferry across the water, to do the 4 mile Hall Walk hike to Polruan. Saw maybe 3 people the entire walk and had lovely views the entire way. So if you are looking to ditch the crowds this summer this is one I recommend. Although no one told me how much elevation gain there would be; I was a bit of a sweaty mess by the time I reached Polruan!
After a quick pint in @luggerinnpolruan it was just a hop skip and a jump across on the ferry back to Fowey ❤️

A beautiful morning on the @southwestcoastpath wal A beautiful morning on the @southwestcoastpath walking the short stretch between @visitlandsend and Nanjizal Bay. When the weather is like this you could be forgiven for thinking you’re in the Mediterranean rather than this little corner of Cornwall 💙

An embarrassing admission: it took me 6.5 years of living in Cornwall to finally visit Nanjizal Bay and see the famous ‘song of the sea’ rock arch.
It’s a bit of a remote spot, sure, but it’s not difficult to get to. The walk from Land’s End takes around 45mins although you’ll need plenty of time for photo stops because this section of the coast path is STUNNING 😍
There was only a handful of people around (even in July!) which was lovely. As always if you visit make sure to take any and all rubbish with you and keep our wild spaces beautiful 💙💚
